Fatescorned padded up so that she stood beside Poison, casting a hesitant glance at the purple mutant before her dark silver eyes flicked between the two leaders. They narrowed slightly as she heard the defiance in her leader's voice, mentally cringing when she heard the words. The phrasing made LightClan sound weak, as if the Clan couldn't drive off a family of badgers by themselves.
Seapaw's shoulder fur bristled slightly at the note of open defiance in Inkstar's voice. Inwardly, though he admired the LightClan leader for sticking to what he believed in, he kept himself from retorting sharply that if their whole Clan couldn't take on a family of badgers, then why did they think they could take on ColdClan? Instead, he looked at the purple cat, Poison, if he remembered her name correctly. When he was younger, Sapphire and Knife had told him about their Family and he had loved to listen to their stories, now, many moons later, he was only a few tail-lengths away from one of the co-leaders. It was actually rather terrifying, he found.

A quick sweep of the ColdClan cats told her that if a battle broke out between them, the ColdClan cats had some good warriors on hand, even an apprentice or two. She noticed Fatescorned stepping close to her, and gave her a subtle flick of her ear. She inhaled deeply, the scent of ColdClan warriors brought back to her. She widened her eyes slightly as she had smelled fear. Fear. It was coming from a tom, and as she swept he gaze over the cats, and noticed the apprentice tom. A small smile came to her lips. Sapphire and Kinfe surely has said stories of her to the young tom.
"Negotiate? On what terms?"
The ColdClan leader replied cooly. He was willing to talk to Inkstar. He admired the tom greatly, but he also had no reason to expand into his territory. Badgers were a threat to all of the clan cats.

Shadowstrike stayed behind Cedarstar, not daring to look to Poison. He didn't want to fight LightClan. Especially after Poison had made him feel so comfortable at the gathering. He looked over to Poison, ears back a bit. He didn't know what was about to happen, but his body was giving an apology to her of somesort. He couldn't not fight if it came to that, but he'd do his best to avoid her. He was glad Cedarstar hadn't done anything yet. He had noted the tone of his leader's voice and his ears lifted. Maybe nothing bad would happen afterall?
Inkstar's ears perked onto Cedarstar. He was suprised the tom was willing to hear what he had to say so calmly. He also admired Cedarstar for how he reacted to things like this. "We keep the borders as we've set. To adjust we won't give but a firm warning to any cats we haven't seen across the new borders until the next gathering. To give all of your clan time to adjust to new borders." He said sitting now, tail flicking to Poison to come nearer. "We've done our best to rid of the badgers, but there are too many. It seems an entire clan has settled. An entire 'family.'" He said, emphasis on family. That's what he had meant. He considered a family more like a clan, like one of the clans. They were really all good enough friends to be family. He looked to Cedarstar waiting for his response.

Fatescorned watched the exchange with mild interest, smirking inwardly at the ColdClan cat's--Shadowstrike, was it--determination to avoid looking at Poison. She listened intently as her leader explained his proposal regarding the borders, her hematite eyes fixed on Cedarstar's face, waiting to see his reaction. When Inkstar confided that there were too many badgers, she couldn't help but chastise him in her mind. In her mind, saying that their entire Clan couldn't drive off some badgers sounded very pathetic.
Seapaw stared nervously at the gray tabby, her calm position unsettling considering that if a wrong word was spoken, a wrong change in posture made, they would be at each other's throats before you could say, 'Mouse!' His sea-green eyes widened as Inkstar spoke. A whole clan of badgers? Sweet StarClan, that was... He tilted his head to one side. How would you describe that? Horrible, awful and terrible seemed to fall short of an accurate description. In fact, combining the three adjectives probably wouldn't describe his initial reaction. He looked at Cedarstar, the tom he had admired since kithood, then back at LightClan's leader. His heart, young and innocent, yearned for him to find away to help. He wanted to cry out and offer his assistance in driving out the badgers, anything. As long as he did something to help.

Her purples rested on the black tom for just a fraction of a second, catching his apology he was sending her. She knew it was an apology if anything should break out between the clans. Her ears pricked up when she heard Cedarstar asking the terms for the negotiation. This was new indeed. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Inkstar flick his tail in her direction, and with a silent movements, and to assure the ColdClan cats she was not attacking, gently slid closer to Inkstar. She awaited Cedarstar's words.
The black and white eader's jaw was firm. He was contemplating over the fact of the border changes. This was not something he could decide on his won. If he made this decision without consulting what part of ColdClan he had with him, it could affect his entire clan.
"Your reasons seem fitting, Inkstar."
The tom spoke, his voice still remaining.
"However, you shall know that this is a decision I can not make on my own."
His gaze was unwavered, his eyes not leading the black tom that sat only tail lengths from his paws. Then he turned to his patrol.
"I must speak to my warriors first."
With a flick of his tail, he beckoned his warriors to gather.

Seapaw hesitated, Cedarstar had, afterall, asked for his warriors to join him. He was an apprentice. He shrugged and moved over to Cedarstar anyways, he was the oldest of the apprentices, and he knew his ceremony was long overdue, he might as well be a warrior. The sokoke cat turned his sea-green eyes on the black and white tom, We could help them to drive out the badgers, then we wouldn't have to worry about the borders, and the badgers would be gone. We could drive them off into rogue territory and let them deal with the creatures, unless they're all killed, he suggested.

Inkstar nodded. His expression was simple, very serious, nothing more. He was surprised though, inside, that Cedarstar was taking all this so easily. He turned to Poison and away from the group of ColdClan cats so that he could relax a little. He smiled very slightly to Poison, a hopeful glance cast her way. He moved closer to the rest of his own warriors, flicking his tail for Poison to follow as well, and for any other stragglers to gather. He wanted to be around his own warriors as well. He looked to Poison again. "He seems to be taking this rather well. I'm surprised. If I didn't know him better I'd assume he's hiding something of his own, though I wouldn't put it past him, I do trust his word..." He rambled a bit in a low voice. They were a distance away and with low voices neither group should be able to hear the other.
Shadowstrike's ears perked as Cedarstar called the warriors to gather. He was glad that Cedarstar hadn't reacted in a harsher way. There may not be a battle with LightClan after all. His purple eyes glittered a moment and then he realized how Cedarstar could perceive this. If he'd noticed the expression would the tom think he was not loyal to his clan? That he would rather be in LightClan, that he wouldn't fight with full power against LightClan. Shadowstrike himself wondered this too, honestly. He would defend his clan, even from LightClan. If it came down to fighting Poison or loosing the battle he would give it all he had, but he wasn't sure if he could do it. He hoped he could, but only being under that sort of stress would show what decision he'd make in it. He didn't want to speak up right away, but rather wait until Cedarstar looked his way. Stadowstrike tried to gather his thoughts and focus on LightClan's borders. He could feel the badger family. 'My god that is large.' He thought to himself and blinked, coming back to reality. He wasn't sure what would be best. If they chased the badgers onto rogue territory the rogues would want to attack, and what if they couldn't and the badgers just got angry? Shadowstrike didn't have a clue as to what should happen.

A soft smile curled into her lips as Inkstar smiled at her. She was just as hopeful as he was that Cedarstar would be as clam as he was withh the borders being moved for a short while. Her mind told her there was nothing to worry about, and she did not need a beckon from Inkstar to move closer to him. She followed him to the group of LightClan warriors and listened as he spoke.
"I'm as surprised as you are, Inkstar. I thought Cedarstar would be at our throats right now about the territory. If he is angry abut this, he's hiding it well."
She added, with a low voice.
"Sounds reasonable. I mean, if the badger family moves on, ColdClan could be next. I don't want that happening."
The black and white tom spoke softly, careful to keep his voice down. He noticed how the apprentice was quite to pipe up his suggestion. He knew Seapaw was way overdue for a warrior ceremony. He made a mental note to himself to give him a ceremony when they got c\past this. This was on his mind first. His gaze swept over his patrol. He lingered on each cat equally.
"Any other suggestions?"

Seapaw listened tried to hear what Inkstar and Poison said by angling his ears but only heard about Cedarstar being at their throats. He shrugged in response to his leader's question. Do our best to kill them, he mewed though he couldn't help but feel bad for the badgers. No doubt they had little idea how much of a threat they were to the Clans, or what it meant to settle on Clan territory.
Fatescorned padded over to Inkstar and Poison, casting a glance at the ColdClan group. Her gray eyes sparkled briefly with amusement as she watched the apprentice pipe a suggestion before the warriors. She saw the ColdClan patrol discussing what was no doubt the apprentice's suggestion before turning to her Clanmates. Cedarstar's a fairly reasonable leader, from what I've seen. I just wish we knew what idea they had come with that they now discuss, she mewed with a small frown.

Inkstar nodded. "Yes, well the most we can do is wait right now. Cedarstar will turn his attention to us when they are ready." Inkstar said calmly and sat back, licking a paw and stroking it over his ears waiting very calmly. He noticed how the apprentice spoke first. He smiled slightly at the thought. He would have welcomed the opinion, as Cedarstar had obviously done, but it wasn't a normal thing to do in the clans.
Shadowstrike hung back in the group, keeping his eyes to the ground, thinking. "Well the group is large." He paused and looked to Cedarstar. "I assume." He added looking around, only Cedarstar knew about his powers and he didn't want the others finding out so soon. "We'd need cooperation from LightClan, which they probably will give, but the badgers need to go. They really are taking up a lot of the territory." He said, realizing he had given himself away again, but he didn't know how to correct himself this time.

Poison's light purple eyes watched the blacka nd white toma cross the border, waiting for anything. Millions of differant scenerios were running through her head wheter the clan would attack or not. She watched as each cat stated their opinion. She was impressed that Cedarstar didn't mind all the opinions at once.
The black and white tom nodded. He grumbled words to himself as Seapaw spoke, and when Shadowstrike pipped up, the tom snapped his head in his direction. "Yes from the sound of it, there are taking up alot of territory if LightClan has to move in on ours. I'm thinking about lending a helping paw to them, but if they needed help," He paused. He knew he had just saved Shadowstrike from disclosing his secret. After the gathering, Sapphire, Knife and Shadowstrike had come to him to tell Cedarstar of Shadowstrikes powers. It helped now. "They could have asked first." The fur on his neck was beginning to bristle, but he calmed himself, and just as fast as they begun to bristle, they layed down flat again.

Seapaw cast a swift glance at the warrior, wondering how he knew the badgers were taking up quite a bit of room. At Cedarstar's mew, he nodded slightly, assuming Shadowstrike had merely misspoke. He looked back to his leader, Should we help drive them off now or go back and get a few more cats? he asked the orange-eyed tom, trying to sound mature, as if he were already a warrior and not an apprentice.

stalking prey. silently, gracefully leaping over the slippery stones. spotting a mouse, perfect to feed the elders, when ...
badgers? servalwood thought in horror.
and is that ... no. ceaderstar would not let another clan come on our territory! but the thought stayed, lingered around servalwoods brain. and, she did indeed smell lihtclan. and their leader, inkstar.
ceaderstar, what is lightclan doing here? servalwood asked in genuine curiosity; putting an extra sarcastic note in lightclan. her paws itched, and hearing seapaw negotiating with the leaders of 2 clans; it was all too much for her small body to handle. she desperatly needed silverbreeze, his comforting words ...
