Plot:
These ashes come to rise as wings...
Prologue|| Water, fresh and lush, spilled from the spine of indigo mountains and into their overflowing brook. The water looked as if made of liquidated crystals, glittering like the frost of the stars above their whirling heads. Their hearts hammered within their briskets as they adrenaline rush matched that of the river that lapped at their gliding paws. He, the silver tabby tom, stood boldly on one side. She, the bobtail tabby she-cat, stood on the other and all four golden-tawny eyes meshed with others. No one was here but these two - no other sounds but the melded beating of their hearts. He leaped forward, coming closer and closer until at last, Falconclaw of AshClan, and Taupesong - with the half-Clan blood of SootClan - of SinterClan met at a toppling embankment and vowed to always love the other. A family was cultivated there, in their secret solace. And the blood of their kin spilled like scarlet drops of rain into the blood of the others in unexpected, and unknown ways.
These were the days of crimson rain. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter One: Lesser war|| The Clans have now long-known peace in their brutal worlds. There are the occasional half-Clan relationships - perhaps legacies of the "Crimson Rain" days - and boundary disputes; but nothing that could set a fire on Clan barriers. This chronic string of peace puts the Clans at unease, making them vulnerable to askance and dubious demeanors. How is it possible that no wars have been conjured all this time? Suddenly it seems as if no other Clan is worth trusting at all. Those of half-Clan, loner, or kittypet heritage are outcasts, living on the outside looking in. They form a motley crew of their own, ravenous for socialization. Friendships between Clans are forbidden and no outside communications are allowed. Gatherings are filled with pointless arguments, until all leaders decide to completely ignore the other Clans; it’s as if each Clan is the only one alive in these bitter, broken days. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter Two: Saving our adversaries...|| All the while CrucibleClan, built on banished half-Clan cats, loners and kittypets, make plans to collaborate as one to save their Clans - even if they are the ones who had brought them to this devastation. If they cannot find a way to save this destruction, there may be no salvation. But can those in exile ever save those who had wronged them so? Their adopted leader, Slagfrost, an astute and noble she-cat of obsidian and ivory, has finally moved the clockwork of her brain in just the right angles; she has formed the perfect plan to save the three Clans. But as she goes to tell them how they would be, at last, saved, her long lost brother steps from the shadows and snaps her neck before the secret can spill like the myriad shadows he brings. He combines his rogues with their great elemental mix, and usurps their CrucibleClan and transforms it into monstrosities and grave dances. "Spies" are placed in each Clan, blending and melding with their assigned groups. They begin to spread lies and murmurs of spite and abhorrence. They talk of stolen prey between neighboring Clans, attempting to create mass warfare and bloodshed. The spies begin to actually slaughter cats, and murders are blamed on the Clans that live beside them. The battles are at last boiling…this is their only chance to take over the land of Cinder Skies. While the Clans are war-bled and emaciated, they seize these ashen homes and become the rulers of the volcano. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter Four: Where does our real blood drizzle?|| So it is up the remaining Clan members to band together as one strong assailment, versus three preemptive strikes in weak, feeble attacks. Their guilt pours into one lake of affiliation; how could they have ever kicked cats from their own Clans? Now they must work to save their exiled members, and destroy the angry rogue-demons before they murder each and every one... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where do your loyalties lie?
Can you make them fly?
