Owl is actually a rather good looking young she-cat, and if she wasn't so shy, it would seem that young toms would swarm over her. Most of her features are gentle and sweet, except for the scar she earned when her and her brother dwelled to close to a twoleg house.Personality:
Owl has a gentle slope to her shoulders, and her body is sleek and lean, even more so then the regular Airclan cat. Her small body and sleek posture are on her side though, for escape from battle and running, swimming or gliding swiftly are no problem due to her streamlined build. Her legs are also strong and long, but slender. Muscles show slightly under her pelt, classifying her as a well built cat. Her paws are small and delicate, letting her stand and leap to narrow tunnels and spaces that ordinary cats couldn't dream of reaching. Her bones are sturdy, as is the rest of her. Her tail is quite long, and wraps right around her front paws. Her neck is ordinary length, though like an owl, she can turn it almost all the way around to her back.
Owl's pelt is extremely soft, like petting a cloud. Her super soft pelt not only has the luck of, well, being soft, it also allows her to step softly, for the fur that cushions in between her toe pads allows her to move silently, also if she snags it on a branch, it soundlessly glides off. Owl has a plumed chest and tail fur, warming her heart from the cold northern winds.
Her pelt is a beautiful pale grey base, like a smooth granite boulder heated by the sun. Her pelt has light blue grey splotches, spread like stripes around her body, yet not so dark that it is sure she is a tabby pelted cat. She had dark ginger, red, black, grey and brown speckles, much like a owl, and white tipped chest and tail. Her legs have three darker black rings in the front, and two dark rings on the back legs. Her tail is also ringed like a raccoon, and widens from the base out, with light orange lining the rings. She also has jaguar spots that spread over her body between the multi coloured rings and speckles, most are a darker colour. Her face is a leaf shape, with a small pink nose and white lined ears, with one perfectly night black ring around one eye. Her ears are very large, almost cartoony, and almost no sound can escape he hearing. Her eyes are a large almond shape, both bright yellow with a light red center and orange rings. Her fangs aren't the longest of the bunch, but they are very sharp, as for her claws, they are more like owl talons, they will do the job if she needs to, but sticking to her dream of being a medicine cat apprentice, she doesn't use them often, which is more then enough for her. The only blemish to her pretty looks is two slashes that have faded to just slightly noticeable on her lower back.
The mutant part of her, along with her owl like features, is the flaps or skin on her back. She has two large flaps of skin located between her front legs, to her back and hind legs, accuipt with feathers and joints, installed along with her limbs . Like her fur, they are owl coloured, marbled grey with fleck of different colour. Though she can glide with her 'wings', she can't fly as there arn't muscles in the flaps strong enough to propel her. She also has many feather along her body, and like a owl, is completely silent when she moves.
Owl is a well behaved young cat, and wishes to become a medicine cat apprentice, and like one displays cool, calm and under control personalities in order for the other cats to trust her and her abilities, not being scared she might turn on them. These are some of the things that helped decide that she wanted to be a medicine cat, for she displays as gentle and kind to the injured cats as well as all other around her.History:
Owl is basically a very well behaved cat, she takes orders from her leader, deputy, mentor and her elders very well, and never tries to put of work unless she must. The same as taking orders well, she is quiet, and usually waits till someone is done speaking before she calls out. The only time she will call out, is when something is urgent, and needs attention right away. She never forgets how her brother put her off when she was hurt by the twolegs, and because of that, never wants to let anyone get put off if they were in any sort of pain or trouble. This is another one of the traits that she exibites for other to trust her. Owl is very gentle and kind despite her name, as owls often terrorize cats and hurt them. She is patient, and listens to whatever that is being said, and is very well behaved, and almost never breaks the warrior code, though no one can be perfect, and at times she will forget a certain attack or method, and asks her mentor for help. She certainly tries her hardest to be a great cat, and most cats agree she is.
Out of her job trying to become better trust among other cats, Owl is a playful young she-cat, though she is shy and usually hovers around crowds instead of joining them. She does love a good laugh and smiles almost constantly despite any pressure she may be under, she always carries a happy, cheerful disposition in all the clans. Overall, Owl is a great cat to be around, she's generous and kind and loves to help out, whatever that she might be needed of.
But since her genes were mixed with an owl, she displays hostile personalities at time, luckily, its often while she hunts, and not many cats are hurt by her in this mood.
Owl was brought to the lab at a young age, as the rest of her family was also captured. Including her brother, Kestrel. Sadly, her brother was more infected then she was, and because of that, he was a very bitter cat, and never cared much for others. Before that, Owl and Kestrel had been very close siblings, but as they got older, they both grew away from each other, until one day, they never even wanted to meet each other again.Role Playing Example:
~..~
Owl shivered in the back of the mesh cage, claws snagging on the wire. Her grey tabby pelt bristled warily, and she glared out at the bright light, and the white coats hurrying back and forth with strange containers in their hands. At one time, the young cat would have been curious of what these strange people carried, but she had stopped caring long ago. Miserable, she turned her head to gaze into the cage that her brother inhabited, not surprised that he wasn't there. The whitecoats always seemed to be studying him for some reason
but she wasn't sure why. Turning away, she padded forward, claws clinking against the mesh as she reached her metal dish, sniffing it warily. She took a few bites as her stomach growled, but spat angrily as the bitter substance clawed at her throat. Eyes narrowing in rage she started to go back to the dark of her cage when a sound ruffled her fur. Glancing back, she saw a whitecoat unhooking her cage, large eyes glaring at her. Owl choked back a snarl. She was to tired to fight back. Cold hand grasp her as she was dragged out of her cage. That's when she saw the small brown cat staring up at her from the floor. Hope pounded her heart painfully. "Kestrel! Help! Please!" She begged, but her brother made no action, just staring at her with amusement as she was tied down with straps. A sharp pain needled her side and she flinched, but already she was fading off, mumbling voices filling the room.....
When Owl awoke, she groaned and pain and leapt to her paws. Two long parallel slashes lay upon her back. That wasn't the only thing that Owl noticed. Her fur wasn't just grey anymore, speckles of other colour dotted her fur. Wrenching her eyes open, she let out a wail. What had they done to her?.....
~..~
It was later that Owl and escaped, along with a few other cats, though they hadn't got away fast enough so that her mutation wasn't urged by the scientist, and by then, her gliding flaps and owl features had already been stimulated into growth. A few moons later, the group found the forest, and the clans that lived in them. Without hesitation, Owl joined the clans, but not many cats ever stopped doubting that evil lurked in her heart.....
Deep orange flames licked the sky, painting the ground with a faint orange blanket, flickering back and forth with the wind like a horse and its rider. Three large, soggy logs lay on their side a few fox lengths away, and towering twolegs dressed in plaid and overalls hunched over, holding their hands close to the blazing fire. One picked up a bundle of moldy wood, tossing it into the flames to watch it flare and turn blue and green, dieing slowly then bursting out into a high arch above them. A silent cheer rose as the shadows cowering beneath the folds of skin and cloths slinked away, and the warm aroma of crinkling wood and snapping ashes filled the air. There was a crinkling sound, closely resembling the crackling snaps of the fire, and a twoleg pulled out a roll of shiny tinfoil, groping deep into the dark blue sack slung over its shoulder to pull out a pound of meat, packed neatly in a zip lock package. Another chorus of voices called out in a cheer and they patted their empty stomachs with wide grins.Other:
The now silver covered meat was placed on a rack across the fire, which made faint popping sounds as it ravenously licked at the aluminum, sending puffs of charcoal covered soot flying through the air, showering down on the gathered people, now grumbling complaints to each other. A few moments were spent as they uncoiled more wrap and placed marshmallows and chocolate between sweet crackers, then withdrawing the meat from the heat and placing the wrapped desserts in its place. The twolegs munched heartily on their dinner laughing and mumbling quietly to each other, almond shaped eyes twinkling with enjoyment. A few scraps of steak fell from their grasp, landing in the mud with unnoticeable splashes, unheard above the chattering.
A light drizzle began to fall, and a whistling fell from the fire as the water pelted it, cornering it into the logs until nothing was left. The upwalkers called out in despair, grabbing the smores and stuffing them into the packs, tidying up some of the scraps of tinfoil, and hurrying off into the woods that lined the small clearing, leaving only footprints in their path. The sky was turning a ghastly black, and the birds huddled fearfully in the trees, trilling out mournfully for the bright weather they promptly wished for every day.
The rain slid off the smooth bracken fronds hanging around the edge of the clearing. A small rustle splattered droplets from the leaf and a small grey mottled she-cat, with large grey faps of skin folded at her side, emerged from the woods. She sniffed the mud-caked ground, large yellow eyes slitted warily as she skittered forward towards the bits of partly-cooked meat. Parting her jaws slowly, she licked up the crumbs and meat, staring into the still slightly orange coals, which hissed like snakes as the drizzle pounded them.
The cats ears were held alert, incase on of the twolegs came back in search of the lost meat, yet as the time moved on, the cat let herself calm. The storm was starting to ease up, and colours streaked the peathing blue sky. The ground was now soppy, and her fur was stained with dark brown goop, but she was used to this, and only leaped upon one of the rotting logs to escape the sloshing mud.
With her belly full, the young cat, Owl, lifted her gold gaze to the tops of the trees, watching the starling gather and call out with high pitched songs. A amused purr rumbled from her throat, and she drew her tongue repeatedly over her plumed white chest fur, washing out the dark colour as she watched the sun slowly fall beneath the cover of the trees, and with that, the moon lurked from the plains, its silver light washing over everything. As the blue moonlight covered her fur and 'wings'in an ominous glow, a drowsy yawn murmured from her throat and she curled up, flicking her long brindled tail over her muzzle, and soon the only sound heard was the rhymetic inhaling and exhaling of Owl’s breath.
She gets quite shaken when near twolegs for her bad experiences with them in her past.
