Cat Banner:Description:
I sit tall. My shoulders square and my back straight. My thick neck raises my head high in the air and my green eyes gaze forward. I let my tail lay loosely behind me, I can't recall a time when I wrapped it around my paws, it's just not me. My slick tabby pelt is always groomed down and clean, showing my powerful muscles that rest beneath it.Personality:
My build is that of a large, strong cat. I'm probably taller then regular sized cats by one whole head, possibly two. Yes, I'm very big and any cat that doesn't know my gentle nature might take me as a big threat. I'm kind of... chunky, but it's only because of my muscles and large bones. I don't have a belly full of kittypet food or anything, no I live in the wild.
I have a sleek tabby pelt. A brown undercoat with thick, velvety black stripes falling across it in a perfect pattern. My belly is an off-white color; not white the color of snow, yet not a creamy color either, right inbetween the two. The white can be found on my chest and chin as well and on the tip of my thick tail. Also, right in the center of my forehead is a small white diamond that stands out as the rest of my face is a darker brown.
I'd have to say one of my most stunning features is my eyes. I know that a lot of cats take their eyes as their best features, and sometimes they are and sometimes they aren't. Mine definitely are. I've been told that ever since I was young. They are a soft, sea-green color mixed with swirls of yellow hear and there. A dark brown, almost black ring of fur surrounds my eye, making the lighter, brighter color stand out even more. My pupil is jet black and very defined, not leaking into the eye whatsoever. My eyes can sometimes look like they have the color blue in them, but only if they are positioned in the right light.
Now, the rest of my face is less spectacular. I have a normal dark brown, almost black nose with short, whiskers that surround it. They are crooked and bent in some places and instead of giving me a nice elegant look like most whiskers give cats, they give me a scraggly, unhealthy look. I have normal sized ears, if not a little small that are a pale, pale pink on the inside. They are found usually standing up straight on my head, or else a little drooped if I'm relaxing in front of the ocean.
--could add more but to lazy xP--
I've been told that I am a very down-to-earth cat. It is said that I can understant things that most cats cannot. I seem to be in touch with what is around me, the earth, the cats, the other animals, everything and I like to live in the moment, not caring about what tomorrow will bring, or the day after, or the day after....History:
Some cats say I'm wise, however, I don't see myself that way. I just see myself as somebody who looks at things with open eyes. I don't jump to conclusions and I am a fairly good problem solver for I like to think things out.
I don't talk much, unless I feel like it. Most of my time is spent surrounded by silence and in deep thought. I'm usually somwhere near the ocean where the pound of the crashing waves soothes my ears and lets me sort out my thoughts, clearing my head.
I was born in the wild. In a far away place, nowhere near this land that I have grown to love. I lived in a small town, with beautiful houses. There were other cats there, and the humans loved us. They would feed us, but never pet us, for they knew what would happen if they did. Claw marks would be left and blood drawn. Anyway, the place was great. Paths between the houses made for excellent ways to get around. There was a beach too, with majestic waves. I loved the beach. And I loved the humans.Role Playing Example:
But, I couldn't stay there forever. I was a born traveler. So I moved inland, away from the beach that I loved. And I journeyed, going many places, learning many things. I was around the age of 25 moons when my life changed... forever.
I came here. But, I probably wouldn't have stopped if she hadn't showed up. It hurts me to talk about her, but I remember the day we met like it was just yesterday...
A flash of mottled and dark fur flew past. Groping to find the figure again, my eyes scanned the horizon and the forest line. There was nothing to be seen. I started to move again, my paws were getting sore, and I would find a place to rest in the forest. But then, another flash. The deep scent of a cat hit my nostrils. I tensed, my muscles tightening. Was I in danger?
Then, out of nowhere, the voice came. It was soft, and it rang out. Love and happiness and... it was just so different. Energy. "Over here! Come look!"
I turned, my green eyes searching where the voice had come from--the forest. I found nothing. I could have turned away, I could have left, but there was something about that voice that pulled me in. Something... different.
I stepped forward, tentativly. My eyes looking, my ears pricked. I kept moving, my paws soft on the grassy flooring. I was alert, waiting for the cat that had called me to jump out at me and attack, or something like that. It didn't happen though. I was walking until the voice came again. "This way," it said, softer this time, as if she were a mother looking at a bunch of kits.
I glanced around, as if where the voice had seemed to come from wasn't correct. I didn't see anything though, so I swerved in the direction. I was now fully in the woods, will tall trees surrounding me and bushes everywhere. I almost tripped on a tree root, but I was able to collect myself before I went stumbling down.
It wasn't long before I saw her. Standing there, her eyes peering into a bush. She looked at me right away, as if she could feel my presence. Her golden eyes tore into my pelt. And I stared back with my own green eyes, taking in what she looked like.
She was the most bizzare cat I had ever seen. She had a tortoiseshell coat, but it wasn't a normal coat. It was so thin you could see the pink skin color underneath. She was almost hairless. That wasn't the only thing weird though either, she had extremely large ears on her head, they looked out of porportion to the rest of her body. She was lean, with long, thin legs -- everything about her was thin -- and she looked as if she were only skin and bones with a tad bit of fur. I stared, my mouth almost falling agape.
However, even though she looked weird, there was something special about her. She was looking straight at me, but she didn't seem to noticed my bewilderment. She just flicked her tail, telling me to come forth and look into the bushes where she was. It took me awhile to react, but I finally did and took a few pawsteps forward until I was standing next to her, but not to close. She then, as if she were some prophetic cat, pulled back the leaves of the bush almost majestically. There, inside of the coverage lay five small balls of fur. They were baby rabbits. I could see their small chests rising and falling with each breath. I was suddenly overwhelmed with emotion and I stumbled back, gazing at this she-cat that stood before me. She let the bush fall back into place, as if it had never been touched, and she to backed up, her eyes glued to me.
We became friends. And yes, Narrabri wasn't only weird looking, she was weird acting. She would bounce all over the place, and in a way I felt like she was a kit and I was the one put in charge of her and if she ran away I would get in big trouble. She ran away lots. I would search frantically for her, worrying that she had fallen into a river or something and drowned herself. She would always turn up though, and she would always flick me on the ear with her long skinny tail saying, "Relax, I always come back." Those were probably some of the few same words she ever muttered.
I wasn't in love with Narrabri, no, I was more of like a brother, or a parent to her. We were great, absoloutely great friends, looking out for each other, well, me looking out for her. And in return, she showed me the most amazing things. She showed me life. And she showed my that I can't keep thinking about what is going to happen the next day, or the day after that, I have to think of now. What is happening now? She taught me so much, and every time I think of her, my heart swells.
Narrabri left one stormy night, and now that I was used to it, I was only a bit frantic. I paced in the small badgers set that we had taken over a few nights before, wondering where she had gone. It took the fear to boil up enough for me to go out and look for her a while, but it eventually did. The rain pelted my fur, but by now I was used to it. Narrabri loved the rain. She loved the noise of it and the smell of it and the sound of it. We would always go out when it was raining. We both had a thing for water.
That night, as I was walking through the forest, calling her name, there was something in the air that was not right, something missing. It made me worried, afraid, more scared then I had ever been before. I knew that something was terribly wrong. When I got to the beach, I looked around, my eyes scanning the area. It was the deserted beach that Narrabri and I loved to go to and sit together, we both loved the ocean.
Then I saw her. Her small, thin body crashing up against a few rocks. She was being rolled by the waves and each time she hit the rocks I could hear the sickening crash. I raced down onto the soft sand and bounded over to her, my ears laid back on my head in fright. I dragged her out, almost getting stuck in the waves deadly crash myself. When we were both on the beach, safe and away from the waves, I noticed she was still breathing, but barely. What could I do? I searched around, looking for anybody, anything, even a twoleg. There was nothing. I called for help, my voice ringing out into the night air, muffled by the sound of the rain that was now pouring down. Thunder echoed in the sky right after lightning flashed.
I heard her call my name. Her voice was weak, and fragile. It sounded so... peacefull in a way. "Coen..." My heart felt like it was being torn a part. I looked into her golden eyes with my green ones, just the same way we had looked into each others eyes on that first day we met. Her eyes were the same, except for the pain that was in them now. My eyes were the same, except for the tears that were welling up inside. "Coen... promise to stay my friend forever, ok?" she said, weezing for air. I was sure that seawater had clogged up her lungs, and there was nothing I could do. She was basically telling me she was a goner. I couldn't have that.
"I'll see if I can get some help," I said, looking at her, not actually ready to leave her here on the beach all by herself.
She looked at me, and managed to shake her head back and forth once. "No, Coen. Promise me," she said. For a dying cat, her words were pretty strong and straight. There was no wavering, no sound of pain. I looked at her, willing the tears not to fall. The rain was getting harder, and the thunder rang louder. "Promise me..."
"I promise." She smiled, and she took one more rasping, deep breath, and then her eyelids fluttered closed over those soft golden eyes. Her breathing stopped, and she lay on the sand, a mangled figure, broken by the waves of the sea. She died there, in front of me.
I haven't kept track of the time inbetween her death in now, for that seems... unimportant to me. Narrabri taught me so much, and I honor all of that. I have become a new cat, it is like my soul was purified. I don't know what I would be without her, and I know she wouldn't want me to be beating myself up about her death. Yes, I miss her, but no, I will not give in. I still live strong and healthy and I live that way for not only myself, but for her.
