"Today, we'll have new warriors join our ranks, new apprentices, and a new deputy" he started, staring out into his clan. "I'll start with the warriors first."
Jumping down from his rock, he landed quite nicely on the ground, a tiny cloud of dust wafting up from around his paws. He raised his eyes, and his eyes spotted his first warrior to be, Seapaw. He smiled and said, "Seapaw, please step forward."

Excitement coursed through him and for a moment, he forgot to move his paws. Slowly, he stood and, in a dream-like state, began to walk towards his leader. This was it. All the training, the time, patience, cleaning the elders of ticks, fetching herbs for Leafdapple, it all boiled down to this one moment. The moment he became a warrior.

He watched as the feelings richocheted off the the young tom's pelt. He felt bad for letting Seapaw get so old as an apprentice. He lifted hsi head up, and spoke to the clan, and to Seapaw.
"I, Cedarstar, leader of ColdClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Seapw, do you promise to uphold the warrior and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Slateblood stood rigidly below the highrock, his smudgey grey pelt glowing as sunlight was cast upon it, carving harsh shadows on his body. His eyes glistened bloody red in the light, and he kept his unwavering gaze up on Cedarstar as he spoke. Ah, how might it feel to be standing there, the warmth of the sun beating down upon you as you looked down upon each member of your clan, each pelt rippling in the sunshine, put together like a giant patchwork quilts. Slateblood could feel his whiskers twitching in admiration for Cedarstar, however he had gotten to become leader, it must have been a great acomplishment. Slateblood could only wish that someday, it would be him standing there. So, eyes wide and curoious, he continued to stare upwards, listening as his leader voice vibrated through the air.
